Inclusive supply chains with smallholders (Indonesia) (2014)

Problem: Company buys from 50,000 smallholders that are not certified against international standards, therefore no guarantee is given that they practice sustainable agriculture and the company can’t claim a zero deforestation product.

Approach: Development of smallholder program and find partner/grant

Result: Partnership with IDH to support the certification of the smallholders through advice and (grant) funding. All smallholders will be certified by 2019.
